Sails Are Back On

After Hurricane Earl there was a line of storms marching across the Atlantic. Fortunately none of them took aim at North Carolina, yet. We are getting brave and put the sails back on the boat this weekend. The weather has made a change to fall with cooler days only in the 80's and nights down to the 60's, perfect sleeping weather and we can give the air conditioner a break. We are now in the best sailing season of the year, which is why we put the sails back on. Time to go sailing.

Hurricane Earl

Time to update. The summer is over, I am back at work and we just had our first hurricane drill of the season. Hurricane Earl skirted by us with minimum problems but it would not have taken much to be a BIG problem. We removed the dodger, bimini, solar panels and the sails and took Hi Flite up the creek and anchored her for the storm. After the drill we brought her back and gave her a good cleaning but are holding off on bending on the sails until the Atlantic calms down a little. There are too many disturbances rolling out of Africa for us to get comfortable.
