A weather report

It’s been on the cold side this week. Into the 20’s and teens at night and only into the 30’s and low 40’s during the day. Not extreme if I was still in Minnesota but cold for North Carolina. This morning the marina had a skim of ice on the water until mid morning. This happens when the temperature drops and there is no wind or breeze to disturb the water. Today, Saturday, it climbed into the 50’s again and should stay pleasant for the next few days. It has to do with which side of the high pressure system we are on. Last week we were getting the winds from the north and northwest bringing in the cold air. The system has moved along and we are now getting the wind from the south bringing up warmer air. There you have it, the weather according to Dale.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We hope your Holidays were enjoyable and you were able to stop all the rushing and get some time to relax. We spent our Christmas with Cori’s family in Sioux Falls SD this year. Dale’s mother was able to drive down so we got a chance to spend time with her also. Our original plan when we moved south was to avoid the cold and snow. The last two Christmases have been spent in the frozen north. I may have to take another look at the plan.

New Years started out quietly again this year. Cori is in Las Vegas for her work and Dale was back from South Dakota. Quiet is not exactly the right word, this year we did not even pretend to stay up and party. After a group dinner in the clubhouse we all moved back to our boats to do whatever it was we had planned. I stayed up late watching television. I don’t now how quiet it was for Cori, since she tells me that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”. She did call close to midnight and it didn’t sound like too loud of a party going on.

Again, Happy New Year to all.
